Executive Board
Ralf Bernhardt
After his training as an industrial clerk, Ralf Bernhardt started his professional career at FAG Kugelfischer KGaA in Schweinfurt in 1985. In addition to his professional work, he studied at Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie in Schweinfurt and ended his studies as Graduate in Economics.
In 1992, he started his career at FIS holding various positions. Before becoming Managing Director in 2008, he worked as proxy for Sales and Marketing.
First of all, he was responsible for document management and FIS/edc, Sales and Marketing, SAP Support as well as for the FIS-UK and FIS-USA subsidiaries.
From August 01, 2011 to June 30, 2012 he was responsible for the former SAP, Technical Wholesale and Industry Business Unit (Consulting, Customer Development Projects, Product Design and Development, Sales and Marketing and Support) apart from his duties as managing director and his responsibilities for the FIS-UK and FIS-USA subsidiaries.
On July 01, 2012, Ralf Bernhardt assumed overall responsibility as managing director of the FIS Group after the sudden and unexpected death of company founder Gert Lang in June 2012. In addition to his role as chairman of the management board, he is responsible for the Enterprise Information Management division.
Dieter Ball
After his IT studies, Dieter Ball started to study industrial engineering at Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt.
In 1995, he started his professional career at FIS as an SAP consultant. After having held various positions as team leader and deputy head of department, Dieter Ball was appointed head of the Consulting SAP, Technical Wholesale & Industry department and became responsible for all national and international activities of the FIS consultants for the technical wholesale. In addition, he was also responsible for IT security at FIS. At the end of 2011, he was given collective power of attorney.
In April 2015, Dieter Ball was given overall responsibility for the division SAP ERP & Logistics (former SAP, Technical Wholesale and Industry Business Unit).
Dirk Schneider
Dirk Schneider, Graduate in Business Administration, completed his studies at Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt in 1999 before starting his professional career as a product manager at Data Becker GmbH & Co. KG in Düsseldorf being responsible for the conception, design and marketing of consumer software solutions.
In 2009, Dirk Schneider moved to FIS working as leader of the FIS/edc sales team. With the founding of the Smart Products Business Unit, the sales operations for all SAP add-on products have been centralized. As a result, Dirk Schneider assumed responsibility as team leader for Sales in this business unit. He decisively contributed to the integration of today’s Smart Products into the central sales operations of the newly founded business unit as well as to the building up of its sales organization.
As head of Business Unit Smart Business Solutions, Dirk Schneider had overall responsibility for the distribution of the FIS optimizations and the SAP C/4HANA Suite between 2013 and 2018. Together with his sales team, Mr. Schneider supported nationally and internationally operating companies, such as Audi, across all industries.
In January 2019, Dirk Schneider joined the FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH Executive Board as head of the Marketing and Sales departments. The consolidation of these areas under his management will help FIS improve its customer orientation as a whole, recognize customer demands at an earlier stage and react to market requirements in the interests of customers in a more targeted manner.
As a managing director of FIS, he has also been responsible for the overall management of the Customer Centric Solutions division since November 2021.
Eva Baumeister
Eva Baumeister holds a degree in business administration with a focus on marketing, advertising psychology and consumer research as well as corporate management and organization.
After her studies, Eva Baumeister completed a trainee program in the media and software industry. In her subsequent activities as a marketing and ad management specialist and as a marketing and project manager, she acquired extensive marketing and communication expertise.
In 2015, Eva Baumeister took over the management of the FIS marketing team as Head of Marketing. With her expertise, she successfully developed the marketing division at FIS both strategically and operationally. In 2021, she was appointed Head of Department.
On January 1, 2024, Eva Baumeister will join the FIS management board as Head of Corporate Functions and will be responsible for Human Resources and Administration.
Michael Benirschka
Michael Benirschka, a graduate industrial engineer, completed his studies at the Technical University of Berlin and began his career at SAP. He worked there for over 16 years in various management positions in consulting and sales. Most recently, as Channel Head Germany, he was responsible for the SAP partner cloud strategy and the expansion of the partner ecosystem in Germany. Under his leadership, partner sales were expanded with a clear focus on the cloud business, innovative recruitment initiatives were launched and important partnerships in the cloud and innovation sector were strengthened.
On 1 October 2024, Michael Benirschka took over the management of the ‘FIS Transformation and Public Cloud’ business unit at FIS with a particular focus on digital transformation, SAP cloud strategy and technological innovation. This new business unit will focus on innovative solutions such as SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition and the strategic further development of the FIS portfolio in line with new SAP technologies.
This primarily includes focussing on innovation topics such as artificial intelligence, the further development of the solution portfolio and close cooperation with SAP as part of the SAP cloud strategy in order to offer FIS customers sustainable added value.
Christian Lang
Christian Lang studied European Business Studies at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg including study visits at Universidad de Barcelona and College of Charleston.
Having successfully completed his studies, the graduate businessman took part in the Siemens Graduate Program, a Group-wide program supporting the development of future leaders offered by Siemens AG. International assignments gave him an insight into the core areas Development, Logistics as well as Sales and Marketing. Most recently, he was project leader in the strategic supply chain management.
Since January 1st, 2013, Christian Lang has been enriching the FIS Management Team – first as a commercial manager and, since January 1st, 2024, as a management board member for cross-company integration and strategy within the FIS Group.
Stephan Wagner
After completing his training as a state-certified business data processing specialist at Berufliches Schulzentrum für Wirtschaft und Datenverarbeitung (Vocational School Center for Business and Data Processing), Stephan Wagner started his career at FIS as a development consultant in 1998.
In 1998, Stephan Wagner started his career at FIS as a development consultant. As from 2002, he assumed responsibility as Deputy Head of the Consulting Development/ABAP department. Until the middle of 2005, he worked in diverse projects as a subproject leader. Afterwards, he joined the FIS/wws Product Development department. As from 2006, he was responsible for product development in the area of FIS/wws and FIS/mpm as a team leader.
Since 01 August 2011, he has been working as Head of Department in the area of Customer Development Projects. In 2019, he was given the power of attorney.
In November 2021, Stephan Wagner becomes CIO and member of the FIS management board. He is responsible for Customer Expert Services and Transition.
Management Team
Annette Großer
After studying general and comparative literature at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and completing numerous internships in the field of communication, Annette Großer began her career as a marketing assistant at the French IT company MPItech.
This was followed by further positions and management positions at various international software manufacturers. Her work focussed on PR, partner marketing, events and lead generation. She most recently gained knowledge and experience in strategic and digital marketing with the introduction of a marketing automation solution at the service management provider 4me.
In January 2024, Annette Großer started as Head of Marketing at FIS.
Torsten Hartlieb
After graduating as an engineer in plastics technology at Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Torsten Hartlieb started his career as a freelance consultant and lecturer for crafts software.
In 1995, he started his professional career at FIS as a consultant for the SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) module. After having gained first experience in several customer projects, Torsten Hartlieb assumed responsibility for the project management and organization during the SAP implementation at a leading wholesale company for connecting and fastening technology.
After numerous successful assignments as project manager, Torsten Hartlieb was appointed Logistics Wholesale team manager of the SAP Consulting department in 2009. In April 2010, he became deputy manager of the department and, in January 2014, he started working as consulting manager for the Logistics I team of the same department.
Since Mai 2015, Torsten Hartlieb has been Head of SAP Consulting (former Business Unit SAP, Technical Wholesale and Industry). In 2019, he was granted power of attorney.
Stefan Hinterwälder
After completing his training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant in the HVAC wholesale trade, Stefan Hinterwälder studied business administration at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, specialising in management, marketing, human resources and training. After graduating in business administration, he started his career as a market manager in the DIY trade in 1992. In 2000, Stefan Hinterwälder moved to SHD Datentechnik GmbH in Andernach as a sales representative. His sales focus here was particularly on the sale of SANGROSS solutions. In 2018, he was also appointed team leader of the warehouse organisation team. From there, his career path led him to FIS via another system house station in 2013.
Here, Stefan Hinterwälder started as Senior Global Account Manager for the ERP new customer business. In 2017, he was put in charge of the team for new customer business. In the context of his role, he was granted full power of attorney in 2021.
Since April 2024, Stefan Hinterwälder has been responsible for the Sales division as Head of Department.
Matthias Hübner
After completing his three-year commercial apprenticeship in 2004, Matthias Hübner studied business informatics at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and already focused on the “Business Software” area during his studies, which has given him contact to SAP topics since the beginning of his studies. In 2008, he completed his studies and joined the “Consulting SAP, Technical Wholesale and Industry” department as a consultant for SAP warehouse logistics and accompanied numerous national and international projects in various industries.
In June 2013, Matthias Hübner took over the consulting management for the growing area of SAP warehouse logistics within the department and has been responsible for the consulting and development activities of the “Warehouse & Transport Solutions” team ever since.
Due to the increasing needs and requirements in the SAP logistics environment, the division continues to grow. This is why the former “Warehouse & Transport Solutions” team was expanded as an independent department and Matthias Hübner has been head of the department since January 1, 2018.
Björn Knorn
Björn Knorn began his professional career as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant at Richter+Frenzel GmbH. After holding various positions in the company, he moved to the IT department in Fulda in 1997, where he developed his specialisation in SAP systems. In 2001, he moved to FIS GmbH and initially worked in support. There he rose to deputy head of department and took over the strategic business unit for FIS/mpm in 2009. In this position, he drove forward market development and product establishment.
In 2012, Björn Knorn switched to sales, where he specialised in pre-sales and product management. During this time, he formed two new teams. The decision to include the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition in the FIS portfolio underlines his contribution to the company’s strategic direction and the introduction of new technologies. Since April 2024, he has headed the department, in which he focuses on the further development and implementation of innovative solutions.
Julian Maul
After his studies at the UAS Würzburg Schweinfurt, Julian Maul, graduate in business administration (UAS), first worked for an American company in other European countries. In 2000, he started his professional career as an SAP consultant at FIS focusing on materials management, document management and FIS/edc in customer projects.
After numerous project activities, he was appointed leader of the consulting team for document management and FIS/edc in 2008 and in 2014 for FIS/mpm as well. Today, these teams form a unit called FIS/EIMS, which implements customer projects in a uniform and cross-technical way.
Since September 2018, Julian Maul bears overall responsibility for the FIS/EIMS department including the FIS/fci, FIS/edc and FIS/mpm software solutions. The department develops and supports national and international companies across all industries. The focus here lies on medium-sized companies, but large corporations are also among its customers.
Horst Müller
Horst Müller started his studies in business administration at Fachhochschule Landshut and finished them in Würzburg. During this time, he discovered his interest in IT. Following his studies, he therefore completed training as a management assistant in data processing at Berufliches Schulzentrum für Wirtschaft und Datenverarbeitung in Würzburg.
In August 1995, Horst Müller started his career at FIS. He first worked in the project-specific development, where he accompanied numerous projects with renowned FIS customers. Later, he completely focused on data exchange and interfaces in combination with the SAP system. The resulting developments later became the FIS/xee solution. In 2002, Horst Müller was appointed team manager for FIS/xee & EAI and, in 2011, he was given the power of attorney.
Since November 2014, Horst Müller has been head of the FIS/xee & EAI department, which became a department in 2014 due to continuous further development. In 2019, he was granted power of attorney.
Ansgar Schleyer
Ansgar Schleyer studied computer science at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and joined FIS in 1995 as an HR consultant specialising in time management and application development. He supervised numerous customer projects in the SAP HR area and was responsible for the FIS/hrd product.
He was appointed deputy head of the FIS/hrd & HCM division in August 2015. In June 2021, he also took over the management of the Product Design & Customer Development Projects team within the Human Resource Management department. Ansgar Schleyer has headed the Human Resource Management department at FIS since January 2024.
Manfred Scholl
Manfred Scholl studied business administration at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg. His interest in IT software was awakened by a subsequent stay abroad at a major international company.
In 1998, he joined FIS, where he worked as a consultant for the SAP MM module and accompanied numerous customer projects. From 2008 he was responsible in the Product Design & Development department for the further development of the industry solution FIS/wws in the area of logistics (SD and MM).
In August 2019 Manfred Scholl took over the responsibility for the department Advanced Enterprise Solutions & Product Design (AES & PD).
Stefan Seufert
Stefan Seufert is a software developer by conviction. Following his vocational training as an IT specialist for application development, he gained experience in the development of Web applications and online shops in various sectors and industries. Among other things, he worked as a team leader for PHP and Web development.
In 2013, Stefan Seufert started his career at FIS as an ABAP developer. He has been involved in numerous projects as a subproject manager. In this context, he worked intensively on the development of Fiori and the cloud and built up and expanded the know-how on these topics throughout the company.
Following his further training as a “Certified Usability Engineer – FIT”, he became a team leader within the Customer Development Projects (KEP) department at FIS. Besides ABAP, the focus was on the Fiori development and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Thanks to his in-depth expertise, Stefan Seufert played a key role in the development of the first cloud-based FIS products. In 2022, Stefan Seufert was appointed Head of Department in the Customer Development Projects (KEP) division. He is responsible for the processes relating to custom code management and contributes his expertise to the topic of cloud development at FIS.
Horst Werner
After his training as an engineering draughtsman, Horst Werner, Graduate Engineer in Economics, started his professional career at FAG Kugelfischer KGaA in Schweinfurt in 1988.
After leaving Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt, he moved to FIS in 1997 where he worked at first as a development consultant for the FIS/xee product.
In 2002, Horst Werner assumed responsibility for product development and market launch of FIS/eSales and was appointed leader of the FIS/eSales team that same year.
Since May 01, 2012, he has been working as head of the Customer Centric Solutions department which merged the SAP C/4HANA suite (former SAP Hybris), FIS/eSales and FIS/crm products on an organizational level. In 2019, he was granted power of attorney.
Joachim Wittek
Joachim Wittek studied industrial engineering at the Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt and joined FIS in 1993. Until 2001, Wittek was responsible for numerous customer projects in the SAP SD area and, since then, for the FIS/wws product design as well.
In 2003, he was appointed Team Leader Product Design. In 2013, he took over the Product Design & Development department as head of department. Since 2019, as Head of the Customer Center, he has been responsible for around 90 consultants, who are organized into six teams – one of which operates internationally. He was also granted power of attorney.
Angelika Wolf
After her vocational training at VR-Bank, Angelika Wolf worked in the advertising media industry for 10 years. At the end of this period, she was responsible for a team of 30 employees working on scheduling and planning. Next, she studied business informatics at “Berufliches Schulzentrum für Wirtschaft und Datenverarbeitung” (=Occupational training center for commerce and data processing) in Würzburg.
In 2003, she was given management responsibility in the course of founding the support department and in 2007 was granted power of attorney. In 2019 she took over the management of the Business Administration & Quality Management department. Within this department, she is responsible for Administration, Accounting & Controlling, Quality Management & Compliance, Legal Affairs and Translation.
Martin Zidek
Martin Zidek completed his training as management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade at the technical wholesaler Adolf Fähnle GmbH in Esslingen. He held various positions in this company before he became head of the Plastics department. During this time, he completed his extra-occupational studies in business administration at VWA, Stuttgart.
After having finished his studies, he moved to RWG GmbH in Stuttgart, which operated as a data center for cooperatives. In his function as an SAP consultant – at first for SAP R/2, later for R/3 and cash solutions – Martin Zidek implemented ERP solutions at agri-business and wine-grower cooperatives. In 1999, Martin Zidek moved to Plaut Consulting GmbH, being responsible for the entire sales cycle of commerce and wholesale.
Two years later, he moved to Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH and marketed the FIS products and services as partner sales.
On September 01, 2008, Martin Zidek moved to FIS working as Head of Sales and Marketing. At the beginning of 2011, he was given the collective power of attorney. From August 2011 to December 2018, he has been responsible for Sales in the Business Unit SAP, Technical Wholesale and Industry. Since then, Martin Zidek has been responsible for Business Development at FIS.
