After approximately six months of preparation time, FIS commenced the startup phase of SAP Marketing Cloud at Walter Meier in December of the past year. Since that time, the Swiss enterprise has used this product for automated newsletter sending. Walter Meier reaches 5,000 subscribers every three to four weeks and specific customers receive campaign newsletters in addition.
Further marketing processes are currently being restructured. In the future, interactions between customers on the website – such as filling in contact forms – are also to be further processed automatically in SAP Marketing Cloud and SAP Sales Cloud, which was already implemented some time ago. Additionally, Walter Meier wants to automate its customer satisfaction surveys using the new system. “We want to get a better sense of our customers’ needs and offer a targeted service,” Claudio Sohm, Marketing Manager at Walter Meier, points out. “So far, we have relied on our field staff’s subjective sense, which can now be substantiated on the basis of hard facts and analyzed in a better way.”
SAP Marketing Cloud now enables Walter Meier to automate standardized marketing processes and, as a consequence, reduce the manual efforts of its employees. Moreover, the enterprise is able to form dynamic target groups on the basis of SAP Marketing Cloud data. “These target groups enable personalized addressing of customers and trigger-based campaigns,” Katharina Markert, Consultant CX Marketing at FIS, explains.
Walter Meier was founded in 1937 as a small business and has meanwhile become one of the leading companions of Swiss industrial companies. The enterprise offers automated and customized CNC manufacturing solutions and provides consulting in advance, installation as well as training and maintenance. Walter Meier is active in all industry sectors, with the majority of its customers coming from the watchmaking and medical industry as well as from mechanical and apparatus engineering.
