On “warehouse logistics”, the leading portal for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), FIS will also present itself in the future with specific competences in implementing SAP EWM and its connection with other SAP core processes. For this purpose, SAP Gold Partner FIS has again obtained the validation for the SAP warehouse management solution from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML).
The prestigious seal of quality underlines the FIS expertise as a provider of warehouse management solutions. Since the beginning of 2016, FIS has been registered as an expert for the implementation of projects with SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) and SAP LES (Logistics Execution System) on the leading WMS portal of Fraunhofer IML.
In the course of re-validation, FIS had to answer an extensive list of questions and participate in a one-day workshop. During the last two years, the FIS warehouse logistics experts have developed a number of functional enhancements for SAP EWM, such as advanced packing transactions in the goods issue process based on the user-friendly SAP UI5 technology and goods receipt transactions for instance. These enhancements significantly increase usability for EWM users.
“ERP integration is our particular strength,” Matthias Hübner, warehouse expert at FIS, explains. “We do not only start at the mere EWM level, but contemplate the entire process chain of all upstream and downstream steps. In contrast to pure value-added EWM resellers, we employ a large number of SAP ERP consultants, who we can involve in EWM projects.” With SAP EWM solutions, FIS operates across different industry sectors. Recently, FIS has implemented major projects for enterprises active in mechanical engineering and in the chemical industry.
About SAP EWM and SAP LES
SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is a flexible warehouse management system for processes and functions of warehouse management and warehouse control and can be used for the continuous design of warehouse processes. It is based on well-proven SAP LES structures and strategies. By means of this flexibility, a very high degree of coverage of the relevant standard warehouse processes is achieved. The direct connection of warehouse automation technology reduces the number of interfaces. With SAP EWM and SAP LES, SAP provides diverse industry-independent logistics solutions for covering logistics processes.
