Wissenswerkstatt Schweinfurt has set itself the objective of awakening young people’s interest in technology and show them career prospects and opportunities in this area. With its free offers for all children and young people from the Schweinfurt region, Wissenswerkstatt would like to make children experience phenomena from natural science and technology with a focus on the playful approach to technology. For this purpose, Wissenswerkstatt Schweinfurt has developed a wide range of training courses that are held at its premises in Schweinfurt – distributed on 500 square meters and 3 workshops – or at the company partners’ premises.
As an SAP expert, FIS does not miss the chance to offer a course of its own and extend the range of courses offered by Wissenswerkstatt. In spring 2022, FIS participated for the first time in the Meet & Code series of events with a course for learning the basics of the JavaScript programming language. Given the high demand, even two courses on programming with JavaScript will be held this autumn. Both courses were fully booked after a short period of time. “It is very important for us to assist Wissenswerkstatt Schweinfurt and its great range of courses offered. During the presentation of the sponsoring certificate on site, we gained insight into a typical afternoon at Wissenswerkstatt Schweinfurt and learned how widely the offer is accepted by children and young people. As a new partner of Meet & Code, we were all the more pleased to see that our workshop was so well received within a short period of time,” explains Marco Ziegler, training supervisor and IT specialist for application development at FIS. “We are looking forward to a long-term cooperation with Wissenswerkstatt Schweinfurt and hope to enthuse many children and young people for IT”.
