Founded in 1992, the small IT consulting company with 11 employees has developed into a successful, independent and international SAP VAR partner in the course of 25 years. With its industrial solution for technical wholesale based on the standard ERP solution by SAP, FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH is the market leader in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and provides the customers with additional innovative FIS and SAP solutions. On July 03, 2017, Dieter Pfister, Vice President of the IHK Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Chamber of Industry and Commerce Würzburg-Schweinfurt), presented a certificate of the 25th company anniversary to the FIS management board honoring the outstanding entrepreneurial performance of FIS and its contribution to the economic development of the region.
It was 25 years ago that Gert Lang and Frank Schöngarth saw the IT outsourcing measures of FAG Kugelfischer as a chance to offer the great SAP consulting know-how of the FIS founding members to a broader target group on the market. Further important milestones were to follow over the past quarter century: the FIS certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 in 1995 and the foundation of the FIS-ASP Application Service Providing und IT Outsourcing GmbH subsidiary in 2001. Two years later, the FIS industrial solution for technical wholesale obtained the SAP certification with SAP VAR contract and in 2008, FIS was awarded the ‘Gold’ partner status by SAP SE based in Walldorf. This status has been asserted ever since. In 2012, the continuous growth enabled the construction of a new main building with a modern customer center in Grafenrheinfeld, which proved to be an important strategic measure responding to the increasing staff number, i.e. > 500 employees in 2014. The FIS management once again proved its focus on innovation at the beginning of 2016 when the FIS-iLog integrated Logistics Platform GmbH subsidiary was founded as well as in the summer of the same year, when a majority stake in Hamburg-based Medienwerft GmbH was acquired. This strategic step enables FIS to enhance its product and service portfolio with SAP Hybris for anything to do with e-commerce and marketing.
“Our growth requires the long-term creation of space. This is why we are currently extending the corporate campus by an office building with space for 100 employees,” explains managing partner Christian Lang with an eye to the future.
