On Monday, July 27, 2020, FIS welcomed the 9 participants of this year’s pupil internship in the area of software development and consulting. It is the aim of this internship week to provide the pupils with a deeper insight into the manifold tasks of the IT area.
Usually, FIS offers two internship weeks every year. The first one, however, had to be canceled due to Corona. The dates of the first week are based on the dates planned by regional schools for mandatory internships so that as many pupils as possible get the chance to participate. The second internship always takes place during the summer holidays. “There is a fixed framework program and our SAP professionals take the time to take intensive care of the participants. This is how we guarantee that the pupils do not just sit and watch but can try and learn something,” explains Tobias Schulz who organizes the pupil internship.
During their internship, the pupils learn, for instance, the basics of HTML, CSS and Java Script, which enables them to create their own website.
“We would like to use this internship to give all those interested in computer science the chance to get a first insight into the job of an IT specialist (f/m/d) and Learn more about the different work areas. Moreover, the internship is intended to help the pupils decide in favor of an IT career at FIS and complete a vocational training as IT specialist for application development or a dual study program in business informatics,” says Tobias Schulz.
The next pupil internships will be offered in spring/summer 2021.
