The integration of the OTTO marketplace using FIS/TradeFlex is another step that has been taken to benefit from growing potentials also in the future.
Over the past few years, large online marketplaces have become more and more significant. The majority of online buyers have long started to search their products via Ebay, Amazon or OTTO and not via Google & Co. The integration of the voelkner brand to the OTTO marketplace is therefore an important part of Re-In Retail’s growth strategy.
Smooth data transfer as a prerequisite for success
To benefit from a marketplace integration, the transfer of any data needs to be fully automated and smooth. This applies both to the transfer of product information to the marketplace portal and the processing of all ordering process stages, from stock check and invoicing to reversal, shipping and returns management. For FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH, this project was an opportunity to prove once more the particular flexibility of its solution for the integration of marketplaces.
Convincing flexibility and process integration
Using FIS/TradeFlex, product information required for the transfer can directly be adopted from ERP or the Content Management system and enriched. Re-In Retail International GmbH, however, provides the content data via an FIS feed. This shows the flexibility of the FIS/TradeFlex application offering transfer possibilities tailored to different customer requirements. Magdalena Weigert, project manager at Re-In Retail International GmbH, confirms: “We are very satisfied with the process-related integration. This is reflected in the results we have so far achieved using the fnac and OTTO marketplaces. It can already be seen that we will continue to benefit from growth factors in the future so that we are positive about the development of our marketplace business. For us, the effort of in-house developer resources (in the field of process-related integration) was much smaller compared to similar integrations in the past.” Further integration projects with FIS/TradeFlex are already being implemented.
