Scope of FIS/FreestylePicking
In the future, customers pick their goods in the pickup store on their own using the mobile and cloud-based FIS/FreestylePicking application. The cash point employee uses the administration app to initially create the customers in the system as well as a customer card with a QR code. Every time the customers make a purchase in the pickup store, they use this card to identify themselves via their QR code, which is stored on their authentication card or smartphone.
A device provided on site is used for picking. It is used by the customer to scan the requested goods in the pick-up warehouse via EAN codes, enter the quantities and places them into their digital shopping cart. Consequently, the work load of your employees is reduced and there is no more wait time for your customers. Once the shopping cart has been completed in the app, a sales order will be created in the SAP system. The cash point employee compares this order with the goods being on the sales counter. Alternatively, the purchasing process can also take place without direct contact with the cash point employee if the customer confirms their purchase via digital signature on the mobile device.
FIS/FreestylePicking is not restricted to a PDC device provided by the pickup store. Alternatively, stationary cash desks can be used as well. Here, the principle already used by large retailers applies: their customers go through the pickup store, place the goods into a physical shopping cart and, at the end, scan the products at the corresponding cash desks.
Finally, a sales order is automatically created in the ERP system and follow-up activities, such as delivery note or invoicing, are triggered. If required, stock postings for specific storage locations can also be processed directly. Subsequent steps such as picking, transfer order and confirmation are also posted automatically.
